Deceased was born in Elmira, New York, eighty-five years ago. He came with his parents to Des Plaines, Illinois in childhood; from there to Wisconsin, east and near to Mineral Point in the early '40's (1840's). He was united in marriage to Miss Mary J. Parish, December 22, 1852. To this marriage were born, seven daughters and two sons; off these, two daughters and one son proceeded him to the great beyond. Those left to mourn the departure of a dearly loved parent are: Mrs. H.E. Burnell, Chippewa Falls; William O'Dowd, Eau Claire; Mrs. Kate O'Dowd, Mineral Point; Mrs. C.H. Hauser, New Carlisle, Indiana; Mrs. J .E. Livingston, Dodgeville and Miss Annie O'Dowd of this city. Mrs. O'Dowd died March 1911 and since that time, the father has been tenderly cared for by his children.
Mr. O'Dowd took the privilege of attending The Academy of Nore Dame, Indiana. He was a man of intelligence - kept posted on public affairs and his genial ways and spicy tongue made him a companionable fellow Old and young had his good will.
Funeral Sunday afternoon.

He came with his parents to Del Plaines, Illinois in the early '40's (1840's), settling on a farm east of Mineral Point, where the decedent grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary J. Parish, December 22, 1852. To this marriage were born, seven daughters and two sons; of these, two daughters and one son proceeded him to the great beyond. Those left to mourn the departure of a dearly loved parent are: Mrs. H.E. Burnell, Chippewa Falls; William O'Dowd, Eau Claire; Mrs. Kate O'Dowd, Mineral Point; Mrs. C.H.
