Funeral services for Clorine Tarver Shelfo will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son, with Reverend Chad Partain officiating. Recitation of the Holy Rosary by Fr. Chad Partain will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Kramer Chapel. Interment will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens under the direction of John Kramer & Son. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 and again from 8:30 a.m. till time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Clorine Tarver Shelfo, 83, of Alexandria, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

Clorine is preceded in death by her parents Sam and Daisy Tarver; 2 sisters, Lorine Tarver Burns, her identical twin and Nell Tarver Connella; 1 brother, infant James Tarver.

Clorine married her sweetheart, Kelly Shelfo, in 1950 and celebrated 63 years of marriage. As a longtime resident of Alexandria, Clorine worked as a nurse at Pinecrest Hospital for 20 years. Clorine's favorite past time included her roses, hydrangeas and ivy. She loved crossword puzzles and enjoyed cooking for her family, especially during the holidays. Clorine enjoyed traveling and went to many exciting places. She is remembered by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren lovingly as "Mawmaw."

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Kelly Shelfo of Alexandria, La.; 4 children, Carolyn Robicheaux, of Alexandria, Deborah Shelfo Jennings and her husband Mike, of Fisk, Mo., James Shelfo and his wife Francine, of Alexandria, La, and Michael Shelfo and his wife Karen, of Cotile Lake, La; 6 grandchildren, Cheryl Jennings Bullock, Brandon Robicheaux, Karen Jennings Waggoner, Leann Shelfo Peek, Kalen Shelfo and Deane Shelfo; 3 great-grandchildren, Makenna Waggoner, Peyton Waggoner and Cameron Bullock along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be: Deane Shelfo, Kalen Shelfo, Brandon Robicheaux, Darrell Tarver, Danny Burns, Willie Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Lain and Mark Fruge.

The family would like to thank the staff of Cabrini Hospital and all medical staff.
