Helen Phillips, age 89, of Elkhart Lake, WI, passed away Early Monday Afternoon (Nov.11) at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice In Sheboygan Falls.

She was born on August 15th, 1924 in Portage County, Wisconsin a daughter of the late Walter and Martha (Okonliewska) Stepniak.

She attended Ferndale School in Marinette County and received her GED in 1981.

On February 9, 1946, she married Levi Phillips at the Methodist church in Peshtigo.

Helen was employed at Tecumseh Products in New Holstein for 30 years retiring in 1984.

Her husband preceded her in death on September 15, 1974.

She was a member of Community United Church of Christ in Elkhart Lake and belonged to Evening Circle and served on the Consistory where she served as president. She also served on the board for the SCIO.

She enjoyed fishing, her cabin on Ranch Lake and was a very avid Packer, Brewer and Badgers fan. She also enjoyed her travels to Alaska and Europe.

Survivors include: Three daughters: Sandra (Fred) Kraemer of Elkhart Lake, Nancy (Rich) Platz of Elkhart Lake and Susan LaRue of Sheboygan; Six grandchildren: Katherine (Troy) Gutzman of DePere, Angela (Jarrod) Tonn of Fond du Lac, Lee (Krystal) Kraemer of Maumee, OH, Michele (Jerry) Flemma of Fox Point, Michael Platz of Cedar Grove and Melissa (Eddy) Fredricks of Green Bay; Twelve great grandchildren; One sister: Margaret "Marge" Madsen of Marinette and One brother: Donald (Delores) Stepniak of Appleton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson: Thomas Kraemer; four brothers: Bernard, Henry, Victor and Walter Stepniak and two sisters: Verna Dorschied and Irene Michalski.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday (Nov. 16) at 11:30 A.M. at Community United Church of Christ in Elkhart Lake. Rev. Ernst Huntzinger will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery in Elkhart Lake.

Visitation will be held on Saturday at CHURCH from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Services.
