Caledonia, OH, September 22 - The funeral of John A. Foos, one of the oldest residents of Marion County, who died at his home, 2 1/2 miles northwest of here, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, was held this afternoon at 1 o'clock from the late residence. Rev. Lotta D. Crosley, of Kent, officiated, and the remains were interred in the Caledonia Cemetery. Mr. Foos' death was due to the infirmities of age, he being 93 years of age.
Mr. Foos was born in Delaware County, October 31, 1819, and was married December 28, 1843, to Miss Elizabeth Lindsey. To this union were born 6 children, only one of those, Andrew Foos, who resides at home, survives with the aged widow, who is 90 years old. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The deceased moved to the farm on which he died in 1858, and was very well known in this county.
