MARY MARKOWSKI
(1881 - 1960)
Mrs. Henry Markowski, 78, of 1023 S. 24th St., Manitowoc, died Monday morning at Manitowoc County Hospital. Funeral services will be at 8:30 am Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc and at 9 am at St. Marcy Catholic Church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. John Landowski will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
The former Mary Novak was born in Poland April 10, 1881, daughter of the late Anton and Anna Marlewski Novak. She came to the United States as a young girl and settled at Manitowoc where she was married Feb. 20, 1905 to Henry Markowski. He died Nov. 20, 1936.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Susan Levah and Mrs. Raymond Hetue of Manitowoc; five sons, Henry, Leonard and Anton of Manitowoc, Casimir of Two Rivers and Joseph of the State of California; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Chapman of California and Mrs. Rose Masiak and Miss Mathilda Novak of Manitowoc; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 pm Tuesday where the Rosary will be recited at 7 pm.

Joseph Markowski of Alhambra, Calif., is visiting relatives at Manitowoc after attending the funeral of his mother, Mrs. Mary Markowski, Wednesday. He will return to the west Saturday.
