Francis C. (Billy) Mrotek, age 85, formerly of 1700 S. 18th St., a Felician Village resident, died Tuesday morning, March 26, 1996, at St. Mary’s Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 1996, at St. Mary’s Home Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Tom Wojciechowski, O.F.M. with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Manitowoc.

He was born September 2, 1910, in Manitowoc, son of the late Paul and Mathilda Stefaniak Mrotek. On October 14, 1939, he married the former Eleanor G. Novak at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He was a veteran of the United States Army ervoing in the South Pacific from 1943-1946. Mr. Mrotek was employed at the Northern Produce Company for many years and retired in 1948 due to illness. He was a member of AARP and Disabled American Veterans, the Manitowoc Senior Center, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Multiple Sclerosis Society, and was one of the founding organizers of St. Mary’s Young Mens Club.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor G. Mrotek, Manitowoc; a sister-in-law, Grace Korinek, Manitowoc, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Frances in 1948, two brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call at St. Mary’s Home Chapel from 8 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at 9 a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation.

A memorial has been established in his name.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
