Lamar Kahn Gallagher passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2013 surrounded by her loving children.

Lamar worked as a Bank Officer for the Laredo National Bank for over 30 years. She was a member of the Society of Martha Washington, having portrayed Martha Dandridge Washington in 1974. Lamar had been a member of the Laredo Art League, and she was the Poster Artist for the Washington's Birthday Celebration Association in 2012.

Lamar was very active in many clubs and charities in her lifetime. She had a passion for Art and a great love of her city. Her inner strength and steadfast faith sustained her in times of adversity, and those who knew her found comfort in her loyalty and goodness. She will be missed by people whose lives she touched and the people who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henri and Lila Sanchez Kahn; husband, Thomas Gallagher; and her sister, Zuleme Kahn.

She is survived by her children, Thomas (Lorraine) Gallagher, Jr., Mary Lamar (Gary) Leyendecker, Janice G. (Arnulfo) Gonzalez, and David (Karen) Gallagher; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Emiliano) Gonzalez Roman, Rachel (Santiago) Gonzalez Iturbe, Radcliffe Killam, David Killam, Jr., Kate (David) Gallagher Doyle, Kyle Gallagher and Kevin Gallagher; and by her great-grandchildren Logan Doyle, Marcelo Alejandro Roman and Ana Sofia Iturbe. She is also survived by her brother, Henri D. (Joanne) Kahn; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Bessie Dodier; her cousin, Mrs. Josette Palacios; and by her many devoted friends and relatives with whom she shared her wonderful life.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 18, 2013 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Rd. A Vigil for the Deceased will commence promptly at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday morning, November 19, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Everyone attending is encouraged to please meet at church.

Rite of Committal and Interment will be held at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery immediately following Mass.
