Zuleme L. “Zulie” Kahn, passed away Saturday, July 30, 1999 in Laredo. Ms. Zuleme Kahn was born July 28, 1924. Ms. Zuleme “Zulie” Kahn was a lady of refinement, world traveler, lover of the arts and notably attentive to her family. Her 40 year working career in civil service with the U.S. Air Force included posts in the U.S.A. and Europe.
She was a direct descendent of one of the founding families in Laredo, Tx. Ms. Kahn was also a member of several organizations some of them including Catholic Daughters of Americas, The Blessed Sacrament Altar Society, The Laredo Art League, a member of The National Association of Retired Employees, The Archeological Society and The Laredo Little Theater, just to name a few. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lila Sanchez Kahn and her father, Henri Kahn.
She is survived by her sister, Lamar Kahn Gallagher and her brother, Henri D. (Jo-Ann) Kahn, also nieces and nephews.
Rosaries will be recited on Sunday evening, Aug. 1, 1999 at 5 p.m. recited by The Catholic Daughters of Americas and at 7 p.m. officiated by Deacon Larry Sandlin at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels at 719 Loring at Cortez. Visiting hours will be from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning, Aug. 2, 1999 at 8:40 a.m. for a Holy Mass at 9 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Ruthe B. Cowl Rehabilitation Center, 1220 Malinche Ave. or The Blessed Sacrament School Fund, 2219 Galveston. Interment will be at the family’s plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Joe Jackson Springfield Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez.
