Gencie Bashlor Turner - MIDWAY - Gencie Bashlor Turner, age 83, passed away peacefully at half past eight, on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Hospice Savannah. She has joined her family, husband, William L. Turner; mother, Euva Lee Barber; grandfather, Ezra Barber; and beloved dog, Gizzy for a long awaited reunion. Gencie was a resident of Midway, GA; however, she lived at the Bryan County Health and Rehabilitation Center, Richmond Hill for the past four years. She retired from Liberty National (Suntrust) Bank of Savannah in 1986 and moved to Waycross where she joined the Patterson Bank until her retirement in 1992. She loved working crossword puzzles, watching the Atlanta Braves, watching Court TV and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed singing in the choir. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Ralph M. Bashlor, Jr. (Pam) of Savannah; daughters, Ramona Watson of Monroe, GA, Barbara Jean Solley of Ridgeland, SC, Beverly Joan Taylor of Ridgeland, SC, Marcia Gail Harrison (Jim) of Midway, Shirley Ann Scott of Savannah, Laura Lee Tabakian (John) of Midway; sister, Elizabeth Williams of Blackshear; 11 grandchildren, 18 great- grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Bryan County Health and Rehabilitation Center and Hospice Savannah for taking exceptional care of their mother. Visitation will be Sunday, November 24, 2013, at half past twelve and funeral will follow at half past one, Richmond Hill Funeral Home, Richmond Hill. Interment will be at Dorchester Cemetery, Midway.
