My uncle Joseph was the older of two sons born to parents Joseph Enoch Clarkson and Ethel nee Kensey Clarkson.
He graduated from Taylor Alderdice High School in 1933, and then Pittsburgh Academy. He also took classes at Carnegie Tech University (now Carnegie Mellon University).
He married Helen Louise Ebert April 27, 1940. They had been married 73 years when he died.
He was a WWII Veteran, serving in the US Army in Hawaii and Okinawa from 1943-1946.
They raised three children- Joseph, Donald and Nancy.
In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He worked for Mesta Machine Company for 46 years, starting as a clerk in 1934, retiring as purchasing agent in 1980.
He and his wife especially enjoyed dancing-square, round and line.
