MERIDEN - Clara Bonfanti, 102, wife of the late Nicholas J. Bonfanti, died on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Miller Memorial Community.

Born in New Britain on Jan. 3, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Sebastiani (Lanteri) Trotta. She was a life-long Meriden resident and a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Peterman, of Meriden and Elizabeth Miller, of River Edge, N.J.; one son, Sal Bonfanti and his wife, Jeanne, of Sarasota, Fla.; five grandchildren, Beth DeMartin, Jayne Kelly, Jill Stanton, Karen Muir and Alison Muir; and four great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Jaclyn Stanton and Elizabeth and Nicholas DeMartin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Bernard Trotta.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 4, at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St. Meriden, and at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Ave., Meriden for a Mass of Christian burial. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, June 3, from 4 to 8 p.m.
