He was born in Ontario, NY on November 3, 1910. He was a farmer all his life, a seventh degree member of the Grange, life member of the New York State Horticultural Society, NY Farm Bureau, Alpha Zeta Fraternity, graduate of the College of Agriculture at Cornell University, and member of the First Baptist Church of Ontario, NY. He was a direct descendant of Walter Palmer who came to America from England in 1629. He was also Charter Member #1 of the Walter Palmer Society. (The Sun & Record., September 25, 2008)
