Peggy Osborne Durden

Mrs. Peggy Osborne Durden, age 76, of Sandersville died Monday, November 25, 2013 in the University Hospital in Augusta following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 29th, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. The Reverend Fred Garrett will officiate.

Mrs. Durden was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Mercer H. Osborne and the late Nadine Redfern Osborne. She was preceded in death by a son, Hank McGoy. She was a retired retail manager for Super 10 Variety Wholesale and had previously worked for Family Dollar Stores and Bill's Dollar Store. She was of the Christian faith.

Survivors are her two daughters, Dean McGoy Beckworth and Traci McGoy both of Sandersville; a son, Jimmy McGoy of Roanoke, Virginia; a sister, Annette Osborne of Sandersville; six grandchildren, Brandi Garrett, Michael Veal, Shanna Grant, Dustin Grant, Cory Ricks and Chris Ricks; five great- grandchildren, Kaitlyn Garrett, Kyleigh Garrett, Kirstan Garrett, Ashlyn Veal and Chandlar Veal.

The family will be at the residence, 851 East McCarty Street, in Sandersville and will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 12:30 P.M. on Friday until the hour of service.
