This is my second great grandfather. He was the grandfather of Amanda HUDLOW Arnold, my grandmother, and father to (oldest child) Eliza Jane, who married William Wright Hudlow. His second child was Rhoda Caroline who, also, married a Hudlow brother, Alfred Hudlow.

Isaac was the second child of the thirteen children of David Anthony Garoutte and Margaret EGGMAN Garoutte. His paternal grandparents were Michael Antoine Garoutte, Sr. and Sophia SMITH Garoutte.

Isaac Garoutte and Martha Jane SMITH were married on December 17, 1847 in Taney County, Missouri. Together, Isaac and Martha had nine children, seven girls and two boys.

When the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of West Plains was organized in 1879, Isaac was a charter member. He was, also, on the Board of Elders when the church was dedicated on November 22, 1885.

He was a farmer and he and his family were well known citizens of their community.

Isaac Garoutte is buried next to his wife Martha who preceded him in death and shares a headstone with her.

He was very much loved and missed by his children, grandchildren, his many, many other family members, and and a host of friends.
