David L. Adams of Indianapolis and formerly of Terre Haute passed away on Nov 28, 2013 at 11:45am in the Country Charm Village in Indianapolis. He was born on June 12, 1922 in Lyford to Riley Adams and Edith Jones Adams. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1940 and Indiana State University in 1947. He served in the US Army during WWII. He taught school for 25 years in Winamac, Indiana and then worked for 10 years as a Supervisor for Zigler Coal Mine. He was a member of the North Terre Haute Christian Church.
He is preceded by his parents, his wife Dorothy Adams, two brothers; Morris Adams and Chester Adams, a sister Fern Hamblem and a grandson Seth Isaac Adams.
He is survived by two sons; Glenn Adams of Bloomington and Richard & Lydia Adams of Palm Bay, FL. One daughter Davala J. & Robert Franke of Bethalato, IL. Eight grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4-8 on Sunday at Frist Funeral Home. Service will be 10:30 am on Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Bob Hamblen officiating. Burial will be in Helts Prairie Cemetery.
