Almeater Johnson was born September 7,1909 to the union of the late Bernard Johnson and Lena Moore in Bonita,La.In 1925 she united in Christian Fellowship with Little Dee MBC of Mer Rouge La under the leadership of the late Rev Polk Williams.In 1935 she united with the Cherry Hill #2 MBC of Mer Rouge,LA under the leadership of the Late W.L.Richardson where she remained and served until her death.On Jan 1926 she united in wedlock with the late Willie Brown to this union four children born two preceded them in death.On Dec 12,1935 she married Willie L. Payne until his untimely death in August 1978. To this union six children were born with one preceding them in death.She leaves to cherish her memory a sister Inez Daniels of Bastrop,La three daughter Murlean Ward of Bastrop,La,Willie B.Rawls of Compton Ca,Clara Holmes of Sacramento,Ca.,Six sons John Payne,Cleophas Payne(Lue Ella ),Edgar Payne,Franklin Payne(Lula Mae),Roosevelt Payne(Maggie),George Payne,51 grandchildren,115 great grandchildren,81 great great grandchildren and 19 great great great grandchildren a host of cousins and friends.
