W. Watson.He was crowned deacon under the leadership of Rev L.Carr in 1948 and served as a Chairman of the deacon board since 1984.He married Regina King in Nov 1936 to this union was born five children.two prceeded him in death one at birth and Dessie Jones.He leave to cherish his memory a beloved wife Regina Payne three daughter Selma Smith, Jurutha Cannon and Paralea Covington.two sons Clem Payne Jr, and Robert Payne.He reared two grandchildren Debra Ware and Gary Lumpkins.23 grandchildren,31 great grandchildren,3 great great grandchildren,A stepmother Almeater Payne,four sister Josephine White,Clara Holmes,Murlean Ward,Willie B Rawls,Seven Brothers Roosevelt Payne,John Payne,Roy Smith,Cleophus Payne,Edgar Payne,Franklin Payne,and George Payne.one uncle Walter Payne a host of nieces,nephews,cousins,other raltives and friends.
