"My children had nothing to eat but milk and butter I would coxe Thom not to let the calves have so much milk as there was 3 cows he would drive the cows down the lain let the calves suck till he come for the buckets well I tried to coxe him not to so one night I run out at the side gate and entended to put up the calves but Thom came running hit me a lick with his willow and shoved me in side the gate so I just run down the inside of the fence jumped over and put up the calves aney way but I was not well on the 15 day of September 1889 I gave birth to a son but he was dead of corse I felt very bad suffering for nearly a year for nothing."
