Retired Farmer Dies
At His Rural Home
Charley Sampson, 88, a retired farmer, died at his home on R. 2 at 4 a.m. on Thursday, May 14. He had been ill two months.
Mr. Sampson had lived at his present residence 86 years.
He was born in Fayette County, Aug. 17, 1870, the son of Rufus and Sarah (Kidd) Sampson. He was married to Elizabeth Lucas, who died in 1930.
Surviving are a daughter, Miss Fern Sampson, at home, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A son, a daughter, three brothers and three sister are deceased.
Fuenral services were held from Drake-Flowers Funeral Home on Saturday, May 16. Burial was in the Paw Paw Cemetery.
