Eleanor first employment was part-time with DuCrafts in Huntingburg, Indiana. Later she was employed full-time at Heichelbeck's Grocery until, she married Herschel Cox in 1944. They moved to West Lafayette, Indiana where Herschel was doing graduate work at Purdue. After obtaining his M.S. degree (except for several years when they lived in Terre Haute), her husband was employed by World Products Company, Spencer, Indiana. Around 1972 the company was sold and the plant moved but they remained in Spencer where he worked at several drugstores as a pharmacist until his retirement. They had one daughter.
