Myron H. Wriedt, 85, of Rockville Road, Town of Schleswig, died Thursday afternoon, December 12, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton after suffering a stroke on Friday evening. He was born July 29, 1928 in the Town of Liberty, son of the late August & Alvina (Henning) Wriedt. Myron attended Woodland School and was a 1946 graduate of Kiel High School. On June 28, 1952 he was united in marriage to Jeanette Illig at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Town of Herman. Together the couple raised their two children, Brian & Polly. Myron was a licensed cheesemaker beginning his love for the business with his father at Western Cheese, Town of Eaton in 1946. He later bought the family business and owned and operated it until his retirement in 1979. After his retirement as a cheesemaker he worked at R.P. Jost, Cleveland as a salesman. Myron was an active and lifetime member of Bethlehem UCC, holding numerous positions on the Consistory and was currently an active member of the church choir for 64 years. He was a former treasurer for the Town of Eaton. Myron enjoyed the outdoors and all the nature surrounding him. He enjoyed making wood and walking on his 30 acres. Myron enjoyed playing cards with friends, traveling with Jeanette and belonged to the Melody Dancers for many years. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jeanette, Kiel, daughter, Polly (Bruce) Jeanty, Kiel and grandchildren; Bryan Jeanty and Benjamin Jeanty (Cassie). He is further survived by step grandson, Chad (Sara) Jeanty, step great grandchildren, Allyson, Ryan & Dylan Jeanty, one brother, Vernon (Delores) Wriedt, one sister, Carol Meiselwitz, sisters-in-law, Bernetta Brendel and Margaret Erdmann, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Brian, mother & father-in-law, Clarence & Orela Illig, brothers-in-law, Walter Meiselwitz, Ernst (Alice) Illig, Harold Brendel, DuWayne Erdmann and nephew, Dennis Meiselwitz. Funeral services for Myron will be held at 5:00 pm, Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Bethlehem UCC, 11608 Lax Chapel Road, Kiel with Rev. Ashley Nolte officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Sunday from 1:00 pm until the time of service. A memorial has been established in his name. Myron loved his life. He loved his house, his woods, but more than anything else, he loved the friendships he cultivated throughout his working life, friendships he had worked hard to maintain. For Myron, to keep a good friend meant more than anything to him and he loved all the wonderful people he met throughout his life.
