Carol J. Meiselwitz, age 87, formerly of Kiel, died peacefully on Saturday morning, May 15, 2021 at Waterford of Plymouth, where she resided for the past 7 years.

Carol was born on July 19, daughter of the late August and Alvina (Henning) Wriedt. She was a graduate of Kiel High School with the class of 1951. On April 24, 1954, Carol married Walter Meiselwitz at Bethlehem UCC in the Town of Schleswig. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1991. Together they were very active members of Bethlehem UCC, living in the parsonage; caring for the church and the grounds for over 17 years. She also sang with the church choir, former Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent and the Ladies Aid. Carol worked for the Kiel Public School District for 29 years, enjoying her time as the High School Secretary as well as in the district office, retiring in 1997.

She took great pride in her flower gardens, and enjoyed tending the vegetable gardens with Wally. Carol was very interested in sports; Kiel Raiders, Packers, Bucks, and Brewers. Carol could be found reading a good book and going for walks on the many nice walkways in Kiel. Getting together with friends and family for visits and cards was something she looked forward to. Carol and Wally would travel with their family and friends, covering many states, and enjoyed their summer vacations together.
Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie (James) Hanke, Plymouth; daughter-in-law, Pam (Dario)Talerico, Kiel; three grandchildren, Tamara (Jonathan) Anhalt, Jason (Erin) Hanke and Jennifer Meiselwitz (Fiance, Ryan Birenbaum); five great-grandsons: Carson, Cole and Chase Anhalt and Jordan and Miles Hanke. She is further survived by three sisters-in-law, Jeanette Wriedt, Alice Broehm, and Shirley Burchaianti. Carol is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, Dennis, brothers, Myron and Vernon (Delores) Wriedt; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Elroy (Vivian) Meiselwitz, James Feld, Albert Burchaianti and Lucille (Wallace) Wriedt.

Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem U.C.C., (11608 Lax Chapel Road, Kiel) at 3:00PM on Sunday, May 23, 2021 with Randy Koppenhaver, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
