She was born on July 22, 1921 in Riverside, Idaho, to Joseph Leonard Wilson and Lucy Caroline Dean. As a child, she loved working in the fields and orchards, and often rode to school in a horse-drawn sleigh.
She met her sweetheart, Everett Duncan, when he hired on to work for her father. Their friendship blossomed as they worked side by side in the fields. They were married on September 24, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Nola graduated with an accounting degree from the L.D.S. Business College and was a capable bookkeeper for Everett's construction business while raising their family.
Her exquisite sewing skills created stunning wardrobes for her family and award-winning quilts. Her homemade bread and jams were delicious and comforting. Nola was a loving example of righteous motherhood, always teaching, protecting, and serving her family.
Nola served in many callings in the church, including Relief Society President, Primary President, Visiting Teacher, and temple ordinance worker at the Dallas, Jordan River, and Timpanogos Temples. She and Everett served together on senior missions, at the Dallas Texas Temple; Quito, Ecuador; San Bernadino, California; and the Linden Cannery.
Nola is survived by her nine children, Ronald Everett Duncan (Kathy) of Rexburg, Kay Lynne McDougal (Donald) of Pleasant Grove, Laurel Coburn (Klayne) of Idaho Falls, Karen Schellenberg (Martin) of Pleasant Grove, Loraine Lee (Gary) of Orem, Dean George Duncan (Ellen) of Sandy, Brent John Duncan (Raeleen), of Birdseye, Suzanne Christofferson (Kay), of Lehi, and Dale Joseph Duncan, (Michele), of Kaysville. Nola also has sixty-two grandchildren, one hundred, sixty-seven great-grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Everett, her parents, and her siblings, Eleatha Johnson, Zula Cathey, Rhea Duncan, and Darrell Wilson.
