COMRADEBODEY PASSED AWAY MONDAY MORNING.

A Resident of Grant Township 39 Years.
Came to Cass City Seven Years Ago.

Another veteran of the Civil War has gone
to answer to the final rollcall with his
comrades who have gone before. John Bodey
passed away at his home here Monday
morning after a prolonged illness of
several months caused by dropsy and a
complication of diseases. He died at the
age of 79 years.
Mr. Bodey was born in Champaign Co., Ohio,
April 26, 1831. In '63 he came to Mickigan
and settled in Grant township where he
lived 39 years. Seven years ago he came to
Cass City where he has since made his home.
He has been married 55 years and leaves a
wife and four children to mourn his
departure. The four children are S. F.
Bodey and Mrs. B. Burton of Gagetown and
Mrs. John Finkle and Joseph D. Bodey of
Saskatchewan.
The funeral soervires were held at the house
Wednesday noon and at three o'clock in th
M. E. church at Gagetown. Interment was
made in West Grant cemetery where Mr.
Bodey performed the duties of sexton for
many years. He was a member of the Myers
Post of the G. A..R. in Gagetown.
Those present from out of town to attend
the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Alfred
Younglove of Bad Axe, Mrs. Read and Ed Shutt
of Fort Wayne, Ind., S. F. Bodey and
family of Gagetown and Mr. and Mrs. B. Burton
and family of Gagetown.
