Raymond was born in Ysleta, TX on August 12, 1948 and passed away at his home in Perris, CA on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his father, Juan Ontiveros and his mother, Ciria Jimenez Ontiveros. He is survived by his loving family; his wife of thirteen years, Guadalupe Ontiveros; son, Alex; daughters, Regina and son-in-law Mike Zambrano, Julie Ann, Jenny, Jennifer and son-in-law Eddie Corona, and Stephanie; his eleven grandchildren, Nicholas, Mikey, Jasmine, Brandon, Arianna, Isabel, Diego, Roman, Ranger, Olivia, and Melissa; his brother Johnny and sister Gloria. Raymond graduated from Roosevelt High School in East Los Angeles and attended East Los Angeles College. In March of 1968, Raymond joined the United States Army. He was stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington. Raymond continued his service by serving in the Vietnam War. His service ended after two years and received an Honorable Discharge as a Specialist Five. Raymond was employed by Interstate Brands Corporation where he retired after thirty years of service. During this time, he met his wife-to-be, Lupe, in the grocery business. They fell in love and married in September 2000 in Covina, CA. Raymond and Lupe explored many outdoor adventures together with their son, Alex. Raymond was an adventurous man who enjoyed gardening, prospecting, fishing, hiking, metal detecting, walking his dogs, Dyngo, Ginger, Kiki, and PeeWee, camping with his family in Lytle Creek, and taking trips to Salton Sea where he would kayak and ride quads with his family. Raymond had a great love for prospecting and over the years he had many interesting finds, including, fossils, gold, rubies, diamonds, relics, coins, and tourmaline. Raymond was a member of the Lost Dutchman's Mine and the Gold Prospectors Association of America, since 2002. Raymond greatly enjoyed being surrounded by people who shared in his love of prospecting.
