KERMIT A. SCHNEIDER

Kermit Schneider, 59, of the Town of Rockland, Manitowoc County, was found dead Sunday morning at home. He died of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Collins. The Rev. Robert Wendland will officiate and burial will be in
the church cemetery.

Mr. Schneider was born Dec. 23, 1909, in the Town of Rockland, son of the late Fred and Emelie Glasow Schneider. He was a section hand for the Soo Line Railroad and also engaged in farming. He served overseas with the Army from 1941 to 1945.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Leona Bennin of Manitowoc, Mrs. Ruben Krueger of Rt. 4, Chilton,and Mrs. Lydia Wenzel of Kaukauna; and nieces and nephews.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Reedsville Funeral Home and then at the church until the time of services.

Schneider, Kermit Arthur (Dec. 23, 1909-Oct. 21, 1969 [death date comes from death record –some reports show him as having died on Oct. 26 –this is because Kermit was dead for a number of days before his body was found] –single –son of Frederick Schneider and Emilie Glasow –born Town of Rockland –veteran of the US Army in WWII, serving overseas from 1941-1945 –worked as a section hand for the Soo Line and also worked as a farmer –from May 1, 1947 to Jan. 20, 1954 owned a 140 acre farm centered in the SE1/4 of the NW1/4 of Section 6, Town of Eaton –this land later became part of the Killsnake State Wildlife Area and the farmstead on this land was razed –residence at time of death was the City of Reedsville –died from “coronary occlusion”) –buried at the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Rockland [death record Manitowoc 67-467]
