SOLDIER: War of 1812. Andrew Fleming served in the 4th Regt. (Boyd's) VA Militia.
Andrew Fleming 1 Regiment (Noel's) Ohio Militia Private 37744721, 37744761. Payroll July 28 to Aug 28 1813 started service July 28 expiration Aug 28 1813, 1 month 1 day, $8 dollars per month, pay $8.25. Private in Capt. William Munn's Comp. in Col. Jacob Noel's Regt. OH Mil. Company Muster Roll Present Jul 28 1813 to Aug 28 1813, roll dated July 29, 1816

SERV: War of 1812. Andrew Fleming served in Captain William Munn' s Company. Hugh Martin, along with his brother John, also served in this company during the War of 1812. All three men served in Munn's first company, not his second company. Attached is a copy of the militia roster from the Ohio Historical Society. The OHS has all of the militia rosters that were used to produce the Roster of Ohio Soldier's in the War of 1812. The second attachment is the same roster but from the Western Reserve Historical Society in Cleveland. Munn's company was a part of Colonel Jacob Noel's Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 2nd Division, Ohio Militia. This regiment was formed with men from Ross and Scioto Counties (as they existed during the war). My Martin's were from the southeast corner of Ross County which in 1819 was transferred to the newly formed Jackson County. Munn's second company was a part of Colonel Daniel Collier's Regiment, Ohio Militia. Colonel Noel's regiment was called up along with the rest of the 2nd Division after the second siege of Fort Meigs. The division marched to Fort Feree (now Upper Sandusky, Ohio) where they sat for a month before being released from duty. General Harrison did not need these Ohio troops.

WILL: I, Andrew Flemming, … to Mary Fleming my beloved wife all my household furniture and property during her lifetime and at her death to Washington Flemming all the remainder of the above named household furniture and to my wife her undivided one third part of the following lands: West ½ SE ¼ of Section 32 Twp 6, Range 18. Also to Washington Fleming at my decease the following two thirds of my lands to wit: West ½ SE ¼ of Section 32 Twp 6, Range 18. I further give to Bonaparte Flemming in two years from my decease $200 to be payed by Washington Fleming. I appoint Samuel Gilleland Jr. as my exec. Date Sep 22 1849 signed Andrew Fleming. witnesses Joseph Spriggs, Nimrod Sheward, John Shoemaker. Witnesses Spriggs and Shoemaker came forward in Open court on Oct. 1 1849 and swore the will was witnessed and signed by them. WB A p. 108 Jackson Co, OH Case #93
