OBITUARY
Died, in this city, on Sunday morning, the 21st inst., WILLIAM TALMA THOMPSON, only child of William T. and Caroline L. Thompson, aged one year and seven months.
"Bright and beautiful as the flowers of spring; like them, he hath perished away from earth, leaving desolate and sad the hearts once gladdened by his loveliness."

Note: These three infants are the children of the famous William Tappan Thompson (Editor of the Savannah Morning News and American Humorist writer) and Caroline Amour Carrie Thompson. The infants are buried next to their grandparents, Joseph and Mary Carrie in the Carrie Family Plot. The infants and their dates are: Augustus Jones March 12, 1838-July 1838. Rosina Fidela (Rosa)July 1, 1839-Sept. 10, 1840 and William Talma Thompson born, July 8, 1841. Rest in Peace dear little ones. This is my three times great grandfather's sister's children.
Note: family Bible birth record and obituary dates conflict. More likely, William was one year and one month old.
