Fred Sterling Jackson was born July 8, 1893 in Nance County Nebraska to Wesley and Minnie Jackson and departed this life at his home in Wolbach, Nebraska on November 14, 1962, at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 6 days. Death was by suffocation from a bedroom fire.

He received his education in the Nance Co. schools and grew to manhood in western Nance County. He farmed his parents' land for many years before retiring to his present home in Wolbach. He always had a kind word and pleasant smile for all who knew him.

He leaves to mourn his passing two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Caudle of Los Angeles, California and Mrs. Alice Bierly of Junction City, Oregon; three brothers, Drew of Armona, California, Robert of Belgrade and D. Cleve of Fullerton; 12 nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister and two brothers.
