Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, Wednesday, February 22, 1956, page 2:
  Mrs. Alvin Blixen, 74, died suddenly following a heart attack about 4 p.m. Tuesday at her home, 240 Coventry place.
  She was born Sept. 12, 1881 in Staunton, the daughter of the late Henry and Sophia [Schaefer] Mindrup. She was married May 12, 1910 in Edwardsville to William C. Blixen, who preceded her in death Aug. 23, 1947.
  She is survived by one son, William C. Blixen of Champaign; and one daughter, Miss Loris Blixen; three brothers, C.F. Mindrup, Edwardsville, Fred Mindrup, St. Charles, Mo.; and Louis A. Mindrup, Dallas, Tex. Also surviving is one grandson. One brother, William H. Mindrup, preceded her in death.
  The deceased was a member of Eden Evangelical and Reformed church and of Circle 8 of the Women's guild of the church.
  The body is at the Weber funeral home where funeral arrangements are awaiting the arrival of the son from Champaign.

Pallbearers, all nephews of the deceased, were Wesley and James Mindrup of Alton; Dr. Robert Mindrup of Jerseyville; and William, Alvin and V.H. Mindrup of Edwardsville.
