Services for Irene L Barber, 93, of Route 3,
Anoka Acres, will be held at 10:30 am Friday
in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Barber died at 10:51 p.m. Monday, April
27,1998, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 2,1905, in Charlotte, Mich., she
was the daughter of Frank and Lillian Mae
Barker Edington. On March 19,1921, in
Lansing, Mich., she was married to Claude
L Barber, who died April 27,1967.
In the late 1930s, Mrs. Barber and her
husband founded the former Barber's Sewing
Supplies, where she retired from in 1967.
She was a member of First United
Methodist Church.
She was a past worthy matron of Fidelity
Chapter 58, Order of Eastern Star, and a
member of Eastern Star Past Matron-Past
Patron Association in Cass County.
Mrs. Barber was a former member of the
Rebekah Lodge, Altrusa Club and the
Logansport Elkettes.
Surviving are one daughter-in-law, Joan
Barber, Logansport; two grandsons, Steven
Barber, Missouri City, Texas, and John
Barber, Pewaukee, Wis.; one granddaughter,
Catherine A. Ramer, Galveston; seven
great-grandchildren, Matt Barber, Mike
Barber, Jeff Barber, Sara Barber, Joseph
Barber, Adam Ramer and David Ramer; and
one great-great-granddaughter, Brianna Barber.
One son, Gayle E. Barber, one brother,
Lowell Edington, and one great-grandchild,
Matthew.Ramer, preceded in death.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m.
Thursday in the funeral chapel, where an
Eastern Star memorial service will be held
at 7 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
may be made to First United Methodist
Church.
