Sherry Cowdell Bentley

1945 ~ 2013

Sherry Cowdell Bentley passed away peacefully on July 7, 2013. Sherry was born to Everard and Stella Cowdell, on September 5, 1945, in Bingham Canyon, Utah.

Sherry was the youngest of 8 children. She graduated from Bingham High School in 1963. Sherry married Kenneth Ensign in 1966, later divorced. They had 3 daughters, Stacey, Stephanie, and Jenifer. Family meant everything to Sherry.

She loved her girls and did everything for them, and when the grandkids came that love grew even more. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially holidays. Sherry loved to travel, play games, and laugh.

She was a part of a Red Hat organization and loved them all very much. She was a very loyal friend and if any of her friends needed her she would drop everything to help them.

She had many dear friends that were there with her through thick and thin. Thank you to each of them for loving her and for taking time out of your lives to be with her during her fight with cancer. She loves you very much!

Sherry is survived by her daughters, Stacey (Johnny) Bateman, Stephanie (Todd) Burke, and Jenifer Johnson (James Gallaher); 11 grandchildren Anthony, Brooke (Chris), Trevor, Levi, Kyla (Kurt), Landon, Spencer, Abbigayle, Joshua (Tosha), Kendra (Zane), and Declyn; three great grandchildren, Raylee, Baylee, and Paisley; two brothers, Marion (Freddie) Cowdell, and Frank (Pat) Cowdell; sister-in-law, Laurece Cowdell; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents; her 4 sisters, Barbara Walters, Polly Porter, Faye Scott, and Joan Gappmayer; her brother, Keith Cowdell; Kenneth Ensign, and her grandson Zac Burke.

Funeral services will be held at the Goff Mortuary located at 8090 So. State Street, Midvale, on Friday, July 12th at 12:00 pm with a viewing that morning from 9:30-11:30 a.m., also at the Mortuary. Interment will be at the Provo City Cemetery, Provo, Utah, following the service.

A special thank you to Tonya, Nichole, and the rest of the staff at Uintah Basin Home Health and Hospice for making Mom's last days so peaceful, and to the Huntsman Cancer Institute for the love and kindness they showed Mom and for taking such good care of her.
