Louis Edward Marfell was born three days after Christmas to Lewis and Sarah Marfell in East Dean in Gloucestershire, England. He lived most of his young life in an area referred to as the Pludds. His mom died while he was a young boy, and his father left England for America soon after. Louis along with his younger brother Howard went to live with their oldest sister Agnes and her husband Albert.
At the age of 17, Louis and Howard traveled to America in 1920. They arrived in New York and made their way to LaSalle county. Again living with his sister, Louis found a job working at Westclox. There he met Helen Norwich who he married. Louis and Helen had two children: Joyce and Louis R. Throughout his life he loved to play the piano.
In 1964 while still working at Westclox, Louis passed away on January 11th due to heart problems. He was 62 years old.
