Died- On Sunday, June 24, 1894, at 3 o'clock a.m. Abram Dobbs, age 51 years, at St. Joe, Mo.
The deceased has been a resident of this city since 1887, coming from Andrew county, Mo. His health has been failing for several months but no action was taken by him until about three months ago, when he started to St. Joe for medical aid and last Monday morning the sad intelligence came to our people of his death. While everybody was expecting such news it was a great shock to the community.
Abram Dobbs was one of the most prominent men in Cheyenne, county and last fall was elected by nearly 300 plurality to the office of County Treasurer on the Republican ticket.
He was Postmaster under the last Republican administration. He was a friend to everyone and a councilor of all.
He leaves behind a wife and five children to mourn his loss. In his death the citizens of this county and the Republican party in particular lose a friend that cannot be replaced. To the bereaved ones we extend our heartfelt sympathy and condolence.
The deceased was buried at Savannah, Mo., his old home, on Monday June 25th.
