HOT SPRINGS — Helen B. Buzzard, 85, of Mountain Grove, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at Bath Community Hospital, Hot Springs.
She was born Jan. 20, 1928 in Neola, W.Va., the daughter of the late Jess Buchanan and Orpah Ryder Buchanan.
She was married to the late Richard Buzzard, who passed away in August 2007.
Mrs. Buzzard was a housewife. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, baking and crocheting.
She is survived by a son, Michael Buzzard and wife Kathy, of Mountain Grove; four grandchildren, Jamie Buzzard and fiancé Brittany of Appomattox, Alan Buzzard and wife Shonna, Greg Buzzard and wife Mary, and Michelle Clark and husband Howie, all of Buena Vista; a sister, Ilene Burchette of Lynchburg; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Alan Buzzard; three brothers, Arden Buchanan, Osborne Buchanan and Ottis Buchanan; and a sister, Esta Baker.
A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 23, at Mountain Grove United Methodist Church, Gatewood Drive, with the Rev. Richard Boyer and Darrell Hiner officiating.
Interment was in Mountain Grove Cemetery.
