Lupe was found in the line up for an unhappy ending at the local shelter. A foster mum for furry friends picked her up but she was at a home outside of town that already had 7 bassets and a few other dogs. The instant we heard about her we went to get her right away.

The rest is, as they say, history.

She became my best friend for life and saw me thru every joy and sorrow my next 8 yrs brought me. Her personality charmed every person she met. She won her way into the hearts of even those who don't like dogs, and she regularly sweet talked them out of bit of their snack, or a spot on their couch.

Lupe was known as the Christmas Basset because we let her come with us each year for gift delivery, with her Santa hat and jingle bracelets on ....she was so fun loving! After bringing someone into my own life who really understands dogs and behavior, I was able to give my Lupe a balanced happy life, exactly what she gave to me.

As the walks became shorter and the energy slowed down, we worked tirelessly to make things nice for our girl. As it turns out, the Christmas Basset saw fit to give me one more Christmas....and on Dec 27th she was released to heaven to become my Christmas Angel every year from here on out.

Such a beautiful pet and such a long beautiful life she had to offer...just sitting at the animal shelter hoping someone notices. Rescuing a dog is a rewarding experience and gives a chance to incredible pets that may otherwise slip thru the cracks in the system. Please rescue whenever possible.

In loving memory of my Lupe - I WILL see you again, Poopers, just wait! Good Girl xoxo
