Mrs. Stewart as born Feb. 27, 1921, in Newell, Ala., daughter of the late Henry Newt and Etta Copeland Butler. She was a manager of central supply at West Georgia Medical Center, attended Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and was a member of Harmony Congregational Methodist Church in Newell. She loved caring for people, and cared for Alice Callaway, Lillian Cobb and other elderly people.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Patterson of LaGrange; two sons, Travis J. Stewart of LaGrange and Sam Stewart of Jefferson, Ga.; two grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Travis C. Stewart, and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. EDT Tuesday in the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel with Rev. Marion Schivers and Mr. P.M. Hicks officiating. The family will be at her home at 402 S. Lee St. and will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 until 8.
