My GREAT-GRANDFATHER, Joseph Wilkerson Howard was the son of Henry and Elizabeth Cottle Howard. He was m.1st.to Frances Howard in 1857, the D/O Andrew and Matilda Ray Howard. They had 6 children. James Monroe,Olivia Jane (Asbery Russell), Beuregard "B.G." (Mattie Adkisson), Joseph Newton (Martha Debord), Louisa and Ellen Katherine (Oliver Hensley). He m.2nd.to Mildred Virginia L. "Jennie" Minnich, D/O William and Margaret Minnich. They had five children. Robert L.Fannie E.Lorena, Richard and George M. The last known whereabouts of him was in the 1900 census and a July 14, 1900 Newspaper article. It is not known when he died, but I'm memorializing his death here, unless I can find that Information. Joseph was the County Attorney for Magoffin County, Kentucky in the late 1800's and early 1900. He was admitted to the bar in 1868, in Salyersville, kentucky.

I have recently learned that Joeseph was the Circuit Judge and was riding a horse home in the rain. He contacted pneumonia and never recovered. On the 12th day of March,1904, his wife Jennie L. Howard was given an Administratrix Bond to discharge the duties of Joseph's Estate. His son, Robert L. Howard was named in a Surety Bond, filed by L.F. Caudill @ M.C.C. I am assuming that he died in early 1904.
