Hilmer H. Johnson was born is Sweden on June 30, 1884. His parents were Gustaf A. Johnson and Louise Anderson. He came to Minnesota as an infant, with his parents. He married Alma Swanson about 1903. In 1917, when their daughter Marion was born, they were living at 3524-25th Avenue South in Minneapolis. Hilmer was a switchman for the Milwaukee Railroad. In October of 1941, they were living at 4036-18th Avenue South in Minneapolis, when Hilmer was admitted to Abbott Hospital with a heart attack. He died three days later on October 26, 1941. Hilmer was buried October 29 in Lakewood Cemetery.
