Lovisa Johansdotter was born in Gokhem, Skaraborgs, Sweden on October 7, 1849. Her parents are not known, except that her father was named Johan. About 1872, she married Anders Johansson, probably in Gokhem, because their first two children were born there. The moved to Ullene, Skaraborgs and had two more children. In 1884, Anders left for America, to see if the rest of the family should move there too. He probably came directly to Minnesota. He must have liked Minnesota, because in March of 1886, Lovisa and their four children came to Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota. In Minnesota, Lovisa was known as Louisa and their last name became Johnson. Louisa and Anders had four more children born in Minneapolis. They lived for many years at 2442-25th Avenue South. Louisa died in on March, 1929 and is buried in Crystal Lake Cemetery in Minneapolis.
