Dorothy Jones Bandy was born on August 28, 1932 in Lafayette, Tennessee to Ray and Minnie Jones. She grew up in the country on a farm. She was an only child.

Dot graduated in 1952 from Macon County High School in Lafayette, Tennessee. After finishing High School she attended Draughrons Business College in Nashville where she stayed with the Garrett's. After graduating from college she went to work for The State of Tennessee at the Department of Unemployment Security until she moved to Florida.

On April 15, 1955 Dorothy Jones and Bobby Bandy were married at the home of John and Edna Garrett in Nashville, Tennessee. The Lord took her home 12 days before their 57th Wedding Anniversary. August 1, 1957 they moved to Orlando, Florida when Bobby was transferred with Southern Bell and made it their home for the rest of her life.

Bobby and Dot had two children Pamela and Timothy. She was always there for both of her children. She was a great Mom. She made a great shopping partner.

Dot has 2 loving grandsons, Robert (Bobby) Bandy and Jonathan Bandy. They were the pride and joy of her life. She loved spending time with them. The boys were always around playing games, eating her wonderful meals and going to the beach with the family. She was always supportive of the boys, in church and school activities.

Dorothy was a member of Delaney Street Baptist Church. She started going to church there in 1958. After attending for a while she started teaching in the Preschool Sunday School Class with 2 year olds. She was also involved in the WMU, Church Training and the History Committee. She read the Bible through many times. She was a prayer warrior and taught us the true power of prayer. She loved the Lord, her church and her Sunday School class.

Dot was a long time member of the Central Florida Camellia Society. At the shows she would sit at the entrance table and sell raffle tickets. She loved growing flowers and working in the yard with them.

She loved to entertain. For many years she hosted parties at the house and a lot of water skiing on the lake. We would have cookouts with family and friends. She enjoyed entertaining and talking with other people. She invited the youth over for ski parties on Saturday's.

She enjoyed having family reunions and get togethers.

Dot enjoyed sewing, playing Rummy Q with sister in law Sarah and others. She was more like a sister then a sister in law to all of them. When new people became family she would welcome them with open arms. She was always there in times of need. She loved Southern Gospel Music and enjoyed watching Tim play the drums at the church. She had love in her heart for everyone.

Dorothy will truly be missed by all.
