Carmen M. Lesperance, age 66, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at her residence.

Carmen was born on March 5, 1947 in Manitowoc to the late Harold and Anna Ray Hardtke. She attended Lincoln High School. On February 1, 1967, Carmen married Terry J. Pleuss at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Terry preceded her in death on April 9, 1969. Carmen was employed with Shady Lane Nursing Care Center until she became disabled and had to retire in 2001. She enjoyed spending her time attending her grandchildren's sporting events, crocheting, making crafts and cookies, volunteering at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, working in her rose garden, quilting, and spending time with her family and friends. Carmen was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and the Catholic Junior League.

Survivors include Carmen's three children: Trisha (Joe) Mrotek, Manitowoc; Tammy (P.J.) Luedtke, Manitowoc; and Travis "T.J." Lesperance and his significant other, Kim Szydel, Two Rivers; six grandchildren: Kayla Pleuss, Brennan Mrotek, Alex Luedtke, Sabrina Luedtke, Josh Luedtke, and Hannah Lesperance; great grandson: Easton King; three siblings: Carrie (Eddie) Grenier, Branch; Allan (JoAnn) Hardtke, Billings, MT; and Ann Beeman, Manitowoc; three brothers-in-law: Ben Weina, Manitowoc; Lynn "Butch" (MaryJo) Pleuss, Fond du Lac; Peter Pleuss, Tucson, AZ; three sisters-in-law: Judy Hardtke, Manitowoc; Linda Hardtke, Manitowoc; and Cindy (Mike) Perrigoue, Crivitz; her Christmas puppy, Chloe; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Carmen was preceded in death by her parents: Harold and Anna Hardtke; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Frederick "Fritz" and Josephine Pleuss; husband, Terry Pleuss; three brothers: George, Anthony "Andy", and infant baby Hardtke; and sister: Eleanor Weina.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall - 1114 South 21st Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier. Cremation will take place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel at a later date with burial of Carmen's remains at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 7:30 p.m. The visitation will continue on Tuesday at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home & Crematory, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Carmen's name.

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the nursing staff at Bellin Hospital's Cardiac Unit, Dr. Pradeep Giriyappa, and the staff of Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. Also, a VERY special thank you to Dr. Matthias Fuhs and his staff for all the care and compassion they provided to Carmen for many, many years - we can't thank you enough!

Carmen will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
