January 1943 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. Commissioned in the Coast Artillery Corps. On D-Day, he served as Radar Officer, Anti-Aircraft Artillery, Third Army Headquarters. He served with "Lucky Forward" for the duration of World War II and participated in the sweep through France into Germany.
Transferred to the Army Air Force in 1946. Developed and taught the first Guided Missile Course. Resigned from the Air Force in 1956. Served as assistant program manager for development and production of the Saturn II stage of the Apollo program.
