Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, Tuesday, June 8, 1943, page 2:
  Glen Carbon, IL--George W. Ingels, widely known resident of this vicinity, passed away at 6:30 p.m. June 7, at the Veteran's Hospital in St. Louis. He was born October 25, 1879 and had attained the age of 63 years, 7 months and 12 days.
  On January 31, 1906 he was united in marriage with Miss Florence Kubicek. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son Earl G. Ingels of Alton, his father, George W. Ingels of Marion and a half-sister, Mrs. Alice Miller of New York. There is one grandchild.
  Mr. Ingels was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and was a member of the Granite City Post No. 121, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was stationary engineer of the Madison Coal Corporation for the past 25 years.
  The funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Straube Funeral Home by Rev. A.R. Ransom, pastor of the St. John's Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The body may be viewed at the funeral home from Wednesday noon until the time of the services.

Pallbearers were Theodore Ladd, Joseph Ladd Jr., Aurie Primas, Robert Kubicek, T. Heeren and A. Leitner.
