Mr. Allen passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 in Jacksonville.
Charlie was born May 23, 1937 in Cherokee County, Texas.
He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jacksonville. He retired as a conductor/brakeman from Union Pacific/ Missouri Railroad. Charlie worked as a house mover in the Jacksonville area.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mason and Alma Allen; brothers, Alfred "Monk" Allen, Earl Allen, Luchius Allen, Wesley Allen, Bennie Allen, Murl Allen, Junior Allen, Calvin Allen; sisters, Jessie Marie Allen and Virginia Allen.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Allen of Jacksonville; daughters, Alma Kathy Allen of Grand Prairie, Teresa Vega Allen Gould of Tyler, Laura Scott and husband Mark of Lewisville, son, Jared Charlie Allen and wife Melissa of Jacksonville; sisters, Ava Ray and Alpha Hanks, both of Jacksonville; sisters-in-law, Evelyn and Juanita Allen, both of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Brandon Gould, Katie Allen, Brady Gould, Kerri, Brittany, Carlie, Hannah, Lauren, Emma, Isabella, and Olivia.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, January 26, 2014 with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
