May Marie Richmond Wood, 95 of Meadow Creek, died at 8:50 a.m. Thursday January 23, 2014 at Main Street Care in Hinton following a short illness.

Born August 30, 1918 at Longbottom, Raleigh County, she was the daughter of the late Silas and Lottie Adkins.

Mrs. Wood was a homemaker and a member of Sandstone Baptist Church at Sandstone.
She had lived all of her life in Summers and Raleigh Counties. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Webster Enfield Richmond, her second husband, Eugene Wood and two sisters, Maycle Payne and Listine Harvey.

Survivors include seven sons, Hobert Richmond of Sandstone, John Richmond & wife Becky of Shady Spring, Jim Richmond of Ballard, Daniel Richmond & wife Tina of Hinton, William Richmond of Hinton, Jesse Richmond & wife Shelly of Hinton and Ray Richmond & wife Connie of Hinton. Three daughters, Annie Richmond & companion Roy of Green Sulphur Springs, Kay Humphries & husband Marshall of Hilldale and Ethel Meadows & husband Ronald of Shady Spring. One brother, Rossy Adkins of Elkton, MD. Three sisters, Elva Boinozych of Elkton, MD, Lena Meadows of Shady Spring and Grace Meadows of Shady Spring. Twenty grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren and nine great, great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday January 25, 2014 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Pete Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery at New River Falls in Raleigh County. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
