"Well Known Citizen Dies"
Moses V. Richards Passes Away at the Beauvoir Hospital at Ripe Age of 89.
Moses V. Richards died at Beauvoir yesterday at 2 p.m. Mr. Richards was one of the best known men along the entire Coast, having been a resident of Harrison county for nearly 89 years. he was born at Stonewall near Lorraine in 1837. He served four years in the Confederate army. He leaves six children to mourn his loss, namely, Mrs. John Stiglets of Handsboro, V.E. Richards of Lorraine, Will Richards of Lyman, B.L. Richards of Texas and Mrs. William Tinder of Slidell,La. Also a step-daughter, Mrs. A.V. Foretich of Biloxi. He also leaves two brothers and one sister, S.B. Richards of Pascagoula, R.B. Richards of Hattiesburg and Mrs. George Frentz of Pascagoula, Mr. Richards had 39 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
He was taken to the Beauvoir hospital only ten days ago, but he has been in ill-health for quite a while.
The funeral service will be held at St. John's Catholic church at Mississippi City at 3 o'clock this afternoon conducted by Rev. Father Reynolds. Interment will be made in th Catholic cemetery at Handsboro.
