He passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
He was born the son of Oscar and Grace Crawford Hensley. He married Beverly J. Gorey on March 25, 1950.She proceded him in death on July 31, 1994.
Surviving are his children, Theresa (Edward) Stoneking of Galesburg, Gary (Cindy) Hensley of Knoxville, Linda Carley of Galesburg, Kathy (Roger) Bycroft, Lorrie (Mark) Byerly all of Galesburg, Lisa (John) Thompson of Knoxville; 16 grandchildren and 22 G-grandchildren. 2 brothers Chuck (Norma Jean Hensley and Ralph Hensley of Galesburg; 5 half-sisters and 1 half-brother. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; (3)sons, Raymond, David , and Roger, One grandson, Robert Ray, One brother, Buddy, and one infant sister, Edith.
He was a laborer for (61) yrs. for the local 538, then retired from local 165 and farmed in rural Knoxville.
He enjoyed his family and socializing with friends, visiting all the sale barns, attending livestock auctions in the area for over 51 yrs. He was a member of the Knox Co. Farm Bureau.
