Jones; brothers and sisters, Avo Jones Savage, Pauline Jones Larson, and Clarence Jones. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Ridley Lening; daughter, Joyce Ann Lening Clark Smith; son-in-law, W. Edward Smith; grandsons, Lloyd Scott Clark, Randall William Clark, and David Michael Clark; step-grandsons, Brian K. Smith, and Michael J. Smith; brother, Samuel Jones, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lening was a native of White House, TN, and a member of the First Baptist Church of White House. Vera and Lloyd married on October 27, 1942. She worked for O'Brien Clothing in Nashville, Montgomery Ward, and retired from Sears and Roebuck in Livonia, MI. Vera loved her husband, daughter, and grandsons. She enjoyed gardening, house cleaning, and shopping. Visitation with the family will be at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 - 8 p.m. and where chapel services will be held Wednesday May 18, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. She was a native of White House, Tenn., and a member of the First Baptist Church of White House. She loved her husband, daughter and grandsons. She enjoyed gardening, house cleaning and shopping. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Ridley Lening, one daughter, one son-in-law, three grandsons, two step-grandsons, one brother, nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Vergie and Arnold P.
