Virgie Hilliard was born April 18, 1913, in McHenry, N.D. She attended school in Lengby, Minn. On Nov. 12, 1931, she married Alfred Kroening. They lived in Minneapolis. They moved near Fosston and farmed. Mr. Kroening died in 1964. She moved to Lengby and later entered the nursing home.
She is survived by a son, Douglas (Joyce), Andover, Minn.; two daughters, Juanita (Robert) Balstad, Fosston, Diane Dombrowski, Rosemount, Minn.; a sister, Amy (Glen) Henry, Casper, Wyo.; 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday from 5 to 7, with a prayer service at 7, in Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home, Fosston, and Saturday from 1 to 2 in Kingo Lutheran Church, Fosston.
Funeral: Saturday at 2 in the church.
Burial: Kingo Lutheran Cemetery.
